Softball Recap: Pacific Grove Has No Trouble Against Soledad

Pacific Grove won the last time they faced Soledad and things went their way on Thursday too. The Breakers put the hurt on the Aztecs with a sharp 12-0 win. Considering the Breakers have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Alex Giammanco made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Ella Lee was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Lilly Gaona was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Pacific Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Soledad only posted a batting average of .118.

The victory made it two in a row for Pacific Grove and bumps their season record up to 10-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Soledad, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Pacific Grove has already played their next contest, a 9-3 victory against Alisal on the 29th. As for Soledad, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-5 win against Marina on the 30th.
