Basketball Recap: Woodruff Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

After losing to Broome the last time they met, Woodruff decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Woodruff Wolverines walked away with a 54-42 win over the Broome Centurions on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Woodruff's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sadie Burnette, who posted 22 points and eight rebounds. Burnette has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kara West, who had nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Woodruff's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Broome, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
