Softball Recap: Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Victorious

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Padua Franciscan on Thursday, but Padua Franciscan never followed suit. They skirted past the Bruins 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Royals: when they faced off against the Bruins two weeks ago, they had to take a 7-4 defeat.

Shaye Tepley made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Padua Franciscan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

Coming up, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy will take on Lake Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Padua Franciscan, they are taking a road trip to take on Holy Name at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Green Wave have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
