Baseball Game Preview: Hightstown Rams vs. Nottingham Northstars

The Hightstown Rams will challenge the Nottingham Northstars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hightstown will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Hightstown will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Hamilton, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Hornets 2-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Rams' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Hightstown got a great performance from Dominick Terranova as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Terranova has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Alex Werden was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Nottingham nor Notre Dame made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Northstars took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Irish. The loss continues a trend for the Northstars in their meetings with the Irish: they've now lost five in a row.

Hightstown pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Nottingham, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Hightstown suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Nottingham in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
