Baseball Game Preview: Webster Thomas Titans vs. East Eagles

The Webster Thomas Titans will face off against the East Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Webster Thomas 3.9, East 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

East will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Webster Thomas extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Titans walked away with a 6-2 victory over Gates Chili. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by exactly four runs.

Joseph Rotondi-Hrywnak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Estelle, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Max Bowers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, East got themselves on the board against Edison Tech on Tuesday, but Edison Tech never followed suit. They blew past the Inventors 15-0. Considering the Eagles have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Webster Thomas' win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for East, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.

Webster Thomas came up short against East in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
