Basketball Recap: Sebastian Badilla's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hilltop over the Cambridge School

Hilltop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Cambridge School Griffins.

Hilltop's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sebastian Badilla, who posted eight points. The dominant performance gave Badilla a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Antonio Martinez, who had eight points.

Hilltop's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for The Cambridge School, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Hilltop and Southwest EC will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Cambridge School, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chula Vista Learning Community Charter on January 6, 2025.
