Basketball Recap: Waverly Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Waverly had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 33-25 victory over the Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles on Friday. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Maranatha Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waverly will take on Madison in a holiday battle at on December 20th. Maranatha Christian Academy and St. Marys will compete for holiday cheer on December 20th.
