Basketball Recap: Germantown Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Germantown can now relate to. They were dealt an 85-31 defeat at the hands of the Pewaukee Pirates on Saturday. The contest marked the Warhawks' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Several Warhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madeline Jakusz, who posted four points and ten rebounds. Jakusz has become a key player for Germantown: the team is 9-3 when she posts at least ten boards, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Mani, who scored nine points.

Even though they lost, Germantown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. This was only their third loss (out of 14 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Germantown's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Pewaukee, they pushed their record up to 23-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Germantown nor Pewaukee have any future games scheduled.
