Baseball Recap: Loyola Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Loyola, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Gahr Gladiators on Tuesday by a score of 3-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Gladiators recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Loyola got a great performance from Noah Mendez as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Murray, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Luca Marucci, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Loyola now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gahr, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Loyola will head out on the road to face off against Cypress at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gahr, they will host Notre Dame (SO) at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Gahr is facing Notre Dame (SO) at the right time seeing as Notre Dame (SO) is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
