Softball Game Preview: Franklin Monroe Jets vs. Bradford Railroaders

The Franklin Monroe Jets will challenge the Bradford Railroaders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin Monroe is looking for their season's first win.

Franklin Monroe lost 13-1 to Mississinawa Valley last Monday.

Meanwhile, Bradford fell victim to Tri-County North and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Railroaders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bradford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vivian Harlemen, who went 1-for-2 with one double. MacKenzie Hocker also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Bradford's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-6. As for Franklin Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Franklin Monroe was able to grind out a solid victory over Bradford when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 16-13. Will the Jets repeat their success, or do the Railroaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
