Football Game Preview: Guthrie Bluejays vs. Carl Albert Titans

Guthrie is 1-9 against Carl Albert since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bluejays will square off against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. Guthrie will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Guthrie beat Altus 41-35.

Guthrie's defensive line made their presence known, laying out Jeymon Reed four times. The heavy lifting was done by Gabe Jackson and Kade Barton, who racked up all four sacks between them. Barton has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, Carl Albert never let their opponents score on Thursday. They breezed past Lawton to the tune of 49-0. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 33 points or more this season.

Guthrie better keep an eye on Delijah Matthews. He was instrumental in Carl Albert's win, rushing for 270 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Those 270 rushing yards gave Matthews a new career-high. Darion Thomas was in the mix as well, providing Carl Albert with two scores.

Carl Albert was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 378 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Guthrie's record now sits at 7-1. As for Carl Albert, their record is now 8-0.

Guthrie suffered a grim 30-6 defeat to Carl Albert in their previous meeting back in December of 2024.
