Basketball Recap: Jenks Takes a Loss

Jenks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 62-49 to the Glenpool Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 71-53 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Glenpool's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yaya Gibson led the charge by going 8 for 16 en route to 23 points and four steals. Gibson's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Tyra Mckinnie was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Jenks' defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Glenpool, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Jenks will host Union at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Glenpool, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-44 loss against Broken Arrow on the 24th.
