Softball Recap: Lakeview's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lakeview couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 7-1 to the Hillsboro Indians on Wednesday. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ava Bacon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Lakeview moved to 22-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Hillsboro, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-3.
