After losing to Shenandoah the last time they met, Knightstown decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Panthers skirted past the Raiders 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.
Knightstown wouldn't go down easily and took Shenandoah into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-19, 25-20, 19-25, 15-12.
Lanee Swindell paced Knightstown's offense, picking up 21 kills. Swindell got some help from Jaycie Cole and her 32 assists. Cole also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Peyton McDaniel, each putting up three.
Knightstown now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Shenandoah, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
Coincidentally, Knightstown and Shenandoah will both be playing Blue River Valley the next time they take the court. The Panthers will host the Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Raiders will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
