Basketball Recap: Zavion Carnline's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wakulla over Community Leadership Academy

Wakulla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 69-49 to the Community Leadership Academy Lions.

Wakulla lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zavion Carnline, who went 6 of 8 en route to 13 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Demarkus Roberts, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points.

Community Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Owen Brown, who went 6 of 12 en route to 18 points. Brown is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Landon Ivarson was another key player, going 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points.

Wakulla's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Community Leadership Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Wakulla will welcome Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season. Community Leadership Academy has already played their next game, a 55-45 loss against Chiles on the 15th.
