III Section V recap September 24, 2013
Catalina Foothills took down Sahuarita 51-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Flowing Wells's dynamic duo of Julio Sandoval and Satchel Burton proved tough for Empire to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sandoval threw for 147 yards and Burton had 54 yards receiving. Tyler Stiltner helped Flowing Wells' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 42 yards.
The Caballeros' dynamic duo of Sandoval and Burton proved to be unstoppable against the Ravens, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Ben Honea was the most successful running back in III Section V this week. In 9 carries, he ran for 171 yards as Marana fell to Empire. Bradley Gonzales also contributed to the rushing game with 164 yards on the ground.
Burton was the best wideout in the league this week as Mark Brunenkant's team lost to W.T. Jeffries' team.
Sandoval put up the best numbers through the air as the Caballeros lost to the Ravens.
Honea provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Tigers bested Catalina. Honea's key target this week was Travis Howard, who caught 5 passes for 46 yards.
Flowing Wells' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Caballeros feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sandoval has thrown for 591 yards and 59 touchdowns this season, while Burton has 15 catches for 254 yards.
The Falcons led the league in scoring this week by notching 51 points on the Mustangs.
