Recap: MacArthur Generals vs. Nimitz Cougars
The MacArthur Generals lost against the Nimitz Cougars back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. MacArthur was dealt a 65-35 loss at the hands of Nimitz. While losing is never fun, MacArthur can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1103rd, while Nimitz is ranked 215th).
It was another big night for Dominic Samuel, who scored 13 points for Nimitz. The match was Samuel's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Bergeron, who scored nine points.
MacArthur has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season. As for Nimitz, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-10.
MacArthur will head out on the road to face off against Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Westfield will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Nimitz will take on Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Spring focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
