Preview: Braswell Bengals vs. Little Elm Lobos
The Braswell Bengals will head out on the road to face off against the Little Elm Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Braswell is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Braswell lost to Prosper at home by a decisive 38-21 margin. While losing is never fun, Braswell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Prosper is ranked 11th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Moses Adelowo, who rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Adelowo was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Shipp, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Little Elm can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Boyd by a score of 38-28. The victory was just what Little Elm needed coming off of a 38-17 loss in their prior matchup.
Braswell has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Little Elm, their win bumped their record up to 1-6.
Braswell and Little Elm were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, but Braswell came up empty-handed after a 29-28 loss. Can Braswell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
