The Portland Adventist Academy Cougars gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 74-53 margin over Rainier. That's another feather in the cap for Portland Adventist Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Portland Adventist Academy was led to victory by Dane Petersen and Caleb Custer. Petersen scored 13 points along with 7 assists, while Custer scored 22 points along with 3 steals. Francis Saliba was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Portland Adventist Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Rainier, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portland Adventist Academy will take on Corbett at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rainier, they will head out on the road to face off against Castle Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
