Basketball Recap: Eli Hubbard Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat KACHEA

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hampton, Sullivan East was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 69-62 victory over the KACHEA Wildcats. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 62-56 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sullivan East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Hubbard led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Hurley, who went 9-for-17 en route to 25 points.

Sullivan East was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. They racked up six more assists than KACHEA's also-impressive total of 17.

KACHEA lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Andrew Joyner, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 17 points along with five boards and three blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Johnson, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 15 points and seven assists.
