Football Recap: Camarillo Takes a Loss

The matchup between Camarillo and Bishop Diego on Thursday hardly resembled the 26-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Scorpions were dealt a 43-16 loss at the hands of the Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Scorpions have suffered since October 18, 2024.

Although Camarillo took the loss, they still got scores from Matthew Meyer and Shane Feller.

Leading Bishop Diego to victory were Gabe Villa and Tua Puailoa Rojas. Villa gained 163 total yards and three touchdowns, while Puailoa Rojas threw for 242 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Villa's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. Samuel Crawford was Puailoa Rojas' top target, picking up 81 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Camarillo dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bishop Diego, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
