            Basketball Recap: Bayfield Wolverines vs. Mancos Bluejays        
        
		
        
        
            Bayfield lost against Mancos back in January of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Bayfield Wolverines fell  40-32 to the Mancos Bluejays. The Wolverines' loss continues a  trend for the  squad, making it three in a row.
 Despite the  defeat, Bayfield had strong showings from  Renae Foutz, who  posted 17 points along with six  steals and five  boards, and  Sylvia Hesford, who  put up eight  points and five  rebounds. That was a full 53.1% of Bayfield's points, marking the third time in a row she's   had  more than a third of the team's points.
 Leading Mancos to victory were  Tinsley Aspromonte and  Destiny Kramer.  Aspromonte  scored 20 points and six  rebounds, while  Kramer  almost  dropped  a double-double on 11  points and nine  boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which  Aspromonte has scored at least a third of Mancos' points.
Bayfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Mancos,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 3-8.
 Bayfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Ignacio  at 5:45  p.m.  on Thursday. Bayfield is facing Ignacio at the right time seeing as Ignacio is stuck on  a  five-game losing streak. As for Mancos, they will look to defend their home court  on Saturday against Telluride  at 11:00  a.m.
