Softball Recap: Orestimba Wins Going Away Against Hilmar

Orestimba won the last time they faced Hilmar and things went their way on Thursday too. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Yellowjackets. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Hailey Starr made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Sophia Machado was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Salece Machado, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Orestimba kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Orestimba's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Hilmar, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8.
