Soccer Game Preview: Logan vs. St. Joseph Central

Logan hasn't had much luck against St. Joseph Central recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wildcats will head out to square off against the Irish at 12:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Logan was handed a seven-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Scott a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Logan were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Joseph Central walked away with it. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Dots on Wednesday. Considering St. Joseph Central have won 12 contests by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Joseph Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Logan, their record is now 8-10-2.

Logan suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to St. Joseph Central in their previous matchup back in August. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
