Philo's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Muskingum Tornadoes, sneaking past 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Electrics in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won five in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (117-102) Philo actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 19-25, 26-24, 10-25, 30-28, 17-15.

Ava White paced Philo's offense, picking up 20 kills. White got some help from Halli Harris and her 21 assists.

Despite the defeat, West Muskingum saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lila Gibson had 18 digs. Those 18 digs set a new season-high mark for Gibson.

Philo's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for West Muskingum, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Philo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against John Glenn on the 9th. As for West Muskingum, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against New Lexington on the 9th.
