Baseball Recap: Melbourne Central Catholic Victorious

While Melbourne Central Catholic's victory against Heritage wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Melbourne Central Catholic narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Heritage 9-8. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-2 back in February.

Cole Carroll was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Melbourne Central Catholic: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jayden McNamara, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Melbourne Central Catholic's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-6. As for Heritage, they moved to 11-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Melbourne Central Catholic will square off against Merritt Island at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Heritage, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Melbourne at 6:00 p.m.
