Baseball Recap: Tioga Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Tioga's offense. They came up short against the Collinsville Pirates on Tuesday, falling 9-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost seven in a row.

Tioga saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Tioga's loss dropped their record down to 7-9-1. As for Collinsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tioga will venture away from home to face off against Tom Bean at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tomcats have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Collinsville, they are taking a road trip to take on Savoy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
