Preview: South Brunswick Vikings vs. Edison Eagles
The South Brunswick Vikings will be playing at home against the Edison Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
After a string of four wins, South Brunswick's good fortune finally ran out two Fridays ago. They were dealt a 35-0 defeat at the hands of Ridge. While losing is never fun, South Brunswick can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Ridge is ranked 23rd).
Meanwhile, Edison suffered a rough 35-14 loss at the hands of St. Joseph on Friday. Edison was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Although Edison took the loss, they still got scores from Landen Cruz and Ricky Harvey.
South Brunswick's defeat two Fridays ago dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Edison, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
South Brunswick might still be hurting after the 42-21 loss they got from Edison in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for South Brunswick, Mathew Yascko (who threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.5% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
