It was a good run, but Sherando unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Meridian Mustangs by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Sherando came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Meridian are ranked 183rd).

Sherando's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 9-2. As for Meridian, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
