Softball Recap: Ames Comes Up Short

Ames was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to the Indianola Indians. The Little Cyclones were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in July of 2025.

Ames' defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Indianola, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ames will welcome Roosevelt at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Riders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Little Cyclones' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Indianola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oskaloosa at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Oskaloosa has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.81 runs per game on average), something Indianola will no doubt try to take advantage of.
