Football Recap: Hutto Hippos vs. Judson Rockets
After flying high against San Marcos last Friday, Hutto came back down to earth. The Hutto Hippos fell just short of the Judson Rockets by a score of 31-29 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hippos have suffered since September 1, 2023.
Despite the loss, Hutto still got an impressive performance from Kaden Stefek, who threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 30 yards. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Jaiden Fields was in the mix too, providing Hutto with two touchdowns.

Judson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayden Graham, who rushed for 131 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 75 receiving yards and a touchdown. Graham got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 66 yards. Another player making a difference was Elijah Favela, who threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns.
Hutto's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Judson, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hutto will face off against Cedar Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Judson, they will challenge SA Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
