Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Huskies vs. Shady Spring Tigers

The Hoover Huskies will face off against the Shady Spring Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hoover knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Shady Spring likes a good challenge.

Hoover is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Princeton with points to spare, taking the game 63-49.

Meanwhile, Shady Spring didn't have too much trouble with Sissonville on Friday as they won 75-58. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Indians are ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hoover's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Shady Spring, their win bumped their record up to an identical 18-4.

Hoover was taken down by Shady Spring 87-45 in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hoover was down 50-16.
