Petaluma had won five straight at home, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 15-6 to make it six. They put the hurt on the Sonoma Valley Dragons with a sharp 9-3 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Lily Pardini made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Taylor Pellonari was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Lauren Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
As for Sonoma Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14. They have struggled against Petaluma recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
