Basketball Recap: New Salem Takes a Loss

After flying high against White Shield last Tuesday, New Salem came back down to earth. The New Salem Holsteins were beaten by the Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] Cougars 70-35 on Thursday. The Holsteins haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

New Salem's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-11. As for Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky], the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

New Salem has already played their next contest (against New England), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] will face off against Mandaree at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
