Baseball Recap: Bishop Eustace Prep Beats Seneca for Their Third Straight Victory

Bishop Eustace Prep entered their tilt with Seneca on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Golden Eagles, sneaking past 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-4 on Monday.

Not much got past Eamon McDermott, who gave up just two hits and racked up 19 Ks to keep Seneca off the board. McDermott has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gabe Rogers, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dante Bell, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one double.

Bishop Eustace Prep pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Seneca, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
