Baseball Game Preview: Terry Bulldogs vs. Germantown Mavericks

Terry hasn't had much luck against Germantown recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. Terry has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Terry is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Friday. They lost 16-1 to West Jones.

Terry saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacarius Wilson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Germantown made sure to put some runs up on the board against Seminary on Saturday. The Mavericks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Bulldogs. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Mavericks' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Estes, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Germantown: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Terry's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Germantown, their record now sits at 12-13.

Terry might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Germantown in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
