Baseball Recap: Marshall's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Marshall had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine 15-7 on Thursday. The Lions not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10th (when they won 13-0).

Dominic Huisinga made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Huisinga was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Liam Keim was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Payton McGuire was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

The victory got Marshall back to even at 7-7. As for Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall will host Northview at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Knights have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine, they will welcome Robinson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
