Basketball Game Preview: Wickenburg Wranglers vs. Glendale Prep Academy Griffins

Wickenburg hasn't had much luck against Glendale Prep Academy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wickenburg Wranglers will challenge the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Wickenburg was able to grind out a solid victory over St. John Paul II Catholic, taking the game 40-29. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wranglers.

Meanwhile, Glendale Prep Academy came tearing into Thursday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Lightning as they made off with a 43-20 win. The Griffins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Glendale Prep Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Wickenburg, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Things could have been worse for Wickenburg, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-31 loss to Glendale Prep Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Glendale Prep Academy's Senna Smith, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards.
