Softball Game Preview: East Valley Falcons vs. Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers

The East Valley Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

East Valley is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Northridge Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Pumas, falling 22-1.

Sherman Oaks CES hit Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vipers lost 13-2 to the Knights. Like the Falcons, the Vipers also had to let a streak go: they had won four straight, but that streak is no more.

Kaida Vorster made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jillian Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for East Valley, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

East Valley might still be hurting after the 30-10 defeat they got from Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
