Basketball Recap: New Jerusalem Christian Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After flying high against Community Christian last Friday, New Jerusalem Christian Academy came back down to earth. The New Jerusalem Christian Academy Eagles came up short against the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles on Tuesday, falling 63-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss New Jerusalem Christian Academy has suffered since February 6, 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elijah Marcellus, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Marcellus is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylin Harris, who posted eight points.

Indian Rocks Christian was led to victory by Will Murphree and Kenyon Boswell. Murphree dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Boswell went 8 of 12 on his way to 20 points. That's the most points Boswell has posted since back in November of 2024. Austin McDonnell was another key player, putting up six points and nine boards.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy moved to 14-6 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy will host Grace Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace Christian will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something New Jerusalem Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-54 win against Keswick Christian on the 30th.
