Volleyball Preview: Armijo Royals vs. Johnson Warriors

Armijo has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will host the Johnson Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Armijo will be strutting in after a win while Johnson will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, Armijo made easy work of Fairfield and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Armijo never let Fairfield on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-17.

Armijo relied on the efforts of Hope Amparo, who had four aces, and Jaelynn Mitchell, who had ten digs. The dominant performance gave Amparo a new career-high in aces.

Meanwhile, Johnson didn't have quite enough to beat Burbank on Monday and fell 3-2. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Johnson couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Burbank a tough time in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15, 16-25, 28-30, 15-12.
