Milan took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Jackson South Side Hawks by a score of 35-28. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Hawks are ranked 236th).

Jaydon Peete went supernova, rushing for 177 yards and three scores on only 15 carries, while also picking up 66 receiving yards and one TD. His longest reception was for an impressive 66 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Milan also got a significant boost from Carson Kelley, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 96 yards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milan will host South Gibson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson South Side, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Jackson Central Merry at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
