It was a proper cat-fight when West Charlotte challenged Chambers on Thursday. West Charlotte blew past Chambers 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Enijah Gary made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Saniyah G was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jayla F, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
West Charlotte was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
West Charlotte's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Chambers, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-4.
