Soccer Recap: Downingtown East Comes Up Short

Downingtown East lost against Oxford back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cougars fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Downingtown East came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Oxford are ranked 271st).

Downingtown East has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Oxford, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Looking ahead, Downingtown East will square off against Great Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oxford, they will welcome Penn Wood at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
