Football Game Preview: North Eugene Highlanders vs. Crater Comets

North Eugene hasn't had much luck against Crater recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Highlanders will take on the Comets at 7:00 p.m. North Eugene has given up an average of 26.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Eugene came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by Churchill 36-6. The matchup marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 37 points the game before, Crater was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were dealt a 44-7 defeat at the hands of Thurston. The Comets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-0.

North Eugene's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Crater, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.

North Eugene couldn't quite finish off Crater in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 and fell 32-29. Thankfully for the Highlanders, Valentin Rodriguez (who rushed for 340 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
