Basketball Recap: Morrill Skates Past Banner County with Ease

Morrill won the last time they faced Banner County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Morrill Lions claimed a resounding 52-20 victory over the Banner County Wildcats. That looming 52-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Morrill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Allison Ott out in front who posted ten points along with five assists and five boards. The dominant performance gave Ott a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Carrizales, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 10 points and four steals.

Morrill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Banner County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyrie Roldan, who put up seven points and eight rebounds.

Morrill's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Banner County, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Morrill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-20 win against Hyannis on the 10th. As for Banner County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-12 defeat against Hay Springs on the 10th.
