Softball Recap: Perth Amboy Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

The Perth Amboy Panthers made easy work of the Rahway Indians on Thursday and carried off a 12-2 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Edith Luciano, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Johanny Almonte, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Perth Amboy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Rahway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Perth Amboy will square off against Piscataway at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Chiefs at the right time seeing as the Chiefs are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Rahway, they will face off against Union at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
