Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montgomery Catholic). They put the hurt on the Straughn Tigers with a sharp 12-1 win on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Jordan Jackson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had over his last four games. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gregory Rauch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Montgomery Catholic's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-9-1 when he doesn't). Parks Hickman was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Montgomery Catholic's win bumped their record up to 3-10-1. As for Straughn, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery Catholic will welcome T.R. Miller at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Straughn, they will challenge Bullock County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Straughn is facing Bullock County at the right time seeing as Bullock County is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
