The Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish will head out to challenge the St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bishop McNamara knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully St. Joseph-Ogden likes a good challenge.

Bishop McNamara's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Marian Catholic hitters got past them. The Fightin' Irish took a 15-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans on Thursday. The Fightin' Irish's loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Taylor Fuerst made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Ricketts, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph-Ogden entered their tilt with Mattoon on Thursday with 24 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 25. They blew past the Greenwave 11-2. Considering the Spartans have won 18 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Joseph-Ogden pushed their record up to 31-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop McNamara, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-7.
