Basketball Game Preview: St. John XXIII Lions vs. Devine Warhorses / Arabians

The St. John XXIII Lions will take on the Devine Warhorses / Arabians at 12:40 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

While St. John XXIII didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Brazos Christian 71-31 on Tuesday. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

Xavier Katamba had another great game (as he tends to do), putting up 20 points. Dash Sodolak was another key player, earning 11 points.

Meanwhile, Devine had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 71-37 victory over the Indians/Squaws. The matchup marked the Warhorses / Arabians' most dominant win of the season so far.

Devine's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for St. John XXIII, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
